Stinging Insect Safety

There seems to be more number of wasps this year. While working outdorrs, inspect the area for visible activity of insects like vasps and bees. Note that these insects will sting/bite only when provoked.

  1. Avoid wearing perfumes and colognes.
  2. Wear light coloured clothing. Preferrably wear long sleeved shirts and trousers. Tape the pant legs and sleeves securely , but not so tight that it cuts off circulation.
  3. Wear long boots.
  4. If possible, wear a hat with a net to protect your face from stinging insects.

Noise from power tools provoke wasps and bees. Be aware of your surroundings while using these tools.

Do not attempt to remove a nest without seeking professional help.

Do not leave car windows open and inspect your vehicle before driving as being stung by a bee or wasp can be very dangerous while driving.

Some people may go into an anaphlactic shock if bitten by wasps or bees. Watch out for severe symptoms and seek medical help immediately if the reaction to the bite/sting is very severe.

  1. Hives, itching and swelling in areas other than the sting site.
  2. Swollen eyes and eyelids.
  3. Wheezing.
  4. Tightness in the chest and difficulty breathing.
  5. Hoarse voice or swelling of the tongue.
  6. Dizziness or sharp drop in blood pressure.
  7. Shock.
  8. Unconsciousness or cardiac arrest.

In most cases, a cotton ball soaked in apple cider vinegar provides instant relief to wasp bites and bee stings.

  1. Respected Ma'am, I am yearning to find articles about the great Dr. Rangachari and his genius. In one of my searches I found your article here http://thoughtsonsanathanadharma.blogspot.com/2013/02/v-behaviorurldefaultvmlo.html and in another page I found another write up about Dr.Rangachari here https://indusladies.com/community/threads/behind-every-successful-man-%E2%80%A6-every-sunset-follows-a-sunrise.304400/page-2. Apart from these , I it is impossible to find any other articles about him. I have been searching for some years, but not success. Whenever I have a conversation about treatments (old school , holistic, cure vs "modern treatments" and dependency on medicines etc.,) I cite the anecdote about Dr'Rangachari's "Cigarette" treatment, which I heard from my dad many years ago. Do you have any contacts who has access to archives that preserve the documentation of Dr.Rangachari's milestones ? It must be shared for posterity. Many Thanks. Best regards, Mike.
